are we?
Rhythm & We is a community-based rhythm movement using drumming to connect, heal, and inspire. As a steward of Traditional West African percussion, we honor the cultural roots of the music while creating inclusive spaces for all backgrounds and experience levels. Through shared rhythm, we awaken the inner beat and the collective heartbeat of community

Meet Reka Sanchez
Reka is a passionate percussionist, community facilitator, and founder of Rhythm and We, a movement that connects people through the power of rhythm. Rooted in West African hand drumming and community-centered expression, Reka creates uplifting spaces for healing, joy, and connection.
Throughout the years, Reka has dedicated herself to studying under Traditional West African drum masters from the Ivory Coast and Nigeria, as well as from many other highly skilled percussionists. Bringing both skill and soul to every rhythm she plays and teaches.
Reka has become a trusted presence in the Orlando area, using drumming to build bridges, inspire healing, and strengthen community bonds. Through her workshops, drum circles, and cultural collaborations, she continues to share one mission:
to spread unity, empowerment, and self-expression— one beat at a time!
